What Is Part P?
Since January 2005 electrical installation work carried out in dwellings in England and Wales has been subject to Part P of the Building Regulations.
Part P imposes the requirement that:
"Reasonable provision shall be made in the design, installation, inspection and testing of electrical installations in order to protect persons from fire and injury."
These requirements apply to all electrical installation work carried out in dwellings in England and Wales. Failure to meet these requirements is a criminal offence. |
